Uber Eats Moves Forward With Plan For Restaurant Ads
In an article in TechCrunch last week, a recent job listing was noted that suggests Uber was planning to enter the advertising market. The listing was for an Uber Eats Ad Lead. And the description the company gave made it clear what their plan is.
The listing describes the position as someone who will "lead the team and efforts responsible for creating a new ads business that enables eaters to discover new foods and restaurants to grow their customer base,""
Gift Cards Opportunity
Restaurant gift card sales jumped 15% during the holidays last year.
According to Paytronix's annual Gift Card Sales Report 2019, holiday gift cards continue to increase in popularity. The average increase in card sales throughout the year was around 6.3%, but in the holiday months, gift card sales increased over 15% in 2018 compared to 2017, according to a press release.
Gift card sales especially pick up around mid-November during Black Friday, according to the report.
