The 'new normal': guidelines for reopening the industry
With the possibility that hospitality businesses might be re opening again soon, the Restaurant & Catering Association (R&CA) has revealed its guidelines for reopening businesses safely, prepared at the government's request.
The R&CA's guidelines are based on best practice principles developed by industry associations in countries that have already begun to reopen venues as well as advice from the World Health Organisation and Australian health officials.
There are two key considerations: the high number of 'touchpoints' within venues and balancing occupancy levels with social distancing requirements.
R&CA CEO Wes Lambert spoke with the Hospitality Magazine and you can read the full story below by clicking the link.
Step 1
In Step 1 of the 3 step framework for a covid safe Australia, cafe's and restaurants can open and seat up to 10 customers. While this is a welcome start, you will still have to engage your brain to make this work profitably.
Clearly offering take aways will have to remain and perhaps up-selling your patrons meals to go is another great idea.
