NSW Budget gets us 'Out and About' to support restaurants, cafes & caterers
Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA) today welcomed the NSW Government’s 2020-21 Budget as a comprehensive and landmark package of measures designed to support the Restaurant, Café and Catering sector get back on its feet after a horror year due brought about by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
A centrepiece of the NSW Budget is the announcement of a $500 million ‘Out & About’ Voucher scheme which will give every NSW resident aged 18 and over four $25 vouchers worth $100 in total – with two vouchers able to be used for eating in venues such as restaurants, cafes, clubs and other food service venues. The program will be run through Service NSW with a CBD trial expected to commence in December 2020 before rolling out across the state.
Raising the Bar helps hundreds of pubs and bars to be COVID-safe
Hundreds of pubs, clubs and bars across Sydney and New South Wales are benefitting from Bundaberg Rum’s Raising the Bar initiative, which is being officially launched in Sydney earlier this week.
The initiative is a $11.5m fund to help support jobs, recovery, and innovation in the Australian hospitality industry.
In addition more than 150 venues across New South Wales have received ‘Bear Cares Safety packages’ providing essential supplies of hand sanitiser, dispensers, floor demarcations, thermal scanners and PPE.
