Has food delivery flattened out?

Have we hit peak Uber Eats as consumers return to restaurants?

Growth in the online takeaway food sector, which is dominated by Uber Eats and Deliveroo, grew by a mere 4 per cent in May, a far cry from heady growth rates of up to 56 per cent in 2016 as more consumers turn to having a restaurant experience.

Scott Pickett, owner of Melbourne restaurants Estelle, Matilda, Pickett's Deli and newly opened Lupo, said the effect of online delivery giants Uber Eats and Deliveroo in Australia in 2016 has been limited.
