In 2011 a total of 503 restaurants around Australia were awarded with Australian Good Food and Travel Guides [AGFG] coveted Chefs Hats Awards.AGFG Chef Hats have been awarded to discerning chefs since 1982. These awards are the result of careful consideration and deliberation. Inspectors appointed by the AGFG dine anonymously; their reviews and the votes of the dining public, who generously send in their comments, determine these results.Every year since the guide's inception the number of AGFG Chef Hats Awards granted has increased as more and more Australian chefs have pushed the boundaries of culinary excellence.
