How Would I Find Your Restaurant?

So Marketing attracts customers (clients), and innovation is how you figure out smarter ways to deliver your promise. Everything else is, in essence, simply about keeping score and supporting these processes.

Attract and deliver. That’s business in a nutshell

So if we put this into Restaurant context, that would be Attracting more Customers & serving delicious food efficiently.

Let me paint this scenario that happen to me last week.

I invited a friend to catch up for dinner at Brighton Le Sands.

Here’s the quick backstory. My friend was only free this day, but they had to rush off by 9:00 pm to the airport to pick somebody up.

I live on the Northern Beaches so don’t know the area very well. So I needed to find a place to meet at.

So you get the picture, I'm going take you through my journey in discovering a suitable place to have dinner in Brighton Le Sands.

So I'm going to share my steps & Marketing lessons you can learn from finding a restaurant.

Just in case you think I’m picking on Brighton Le Sands, I choose this area because I don’t have preconceived ideas because I haven't eaten there before. I actually did have dinner at Brighton last Week.

• Google smart enough to work it out even if you spell it wrong...

2) Google Places

• These restaurants have added & claimed their sites on Google Place (you can see they show up on Google Maps)...
• They have also had customers add reviews...
• Make sure you have claimed your restaurant in Google Places...

3) Tripadvisor

• These are the Best 10 Restaurants recommended by Trip Advisor for Brighton Le Sands...
• Trip Advisor showing it part of Rockdale Council (I think this now changed due to council amalgamations)...
• They are highlighting 63 Restaurants which 1928 Reviews...
• So this would be one of first the places I'd click on if I was looking for a restaurant or cafe in Brighton Le Sands...

• There SERP ( search engine results pages) could use some work...
• Google typically displays the first 50-60 characters of a title tag or as many characters as will fit into a 512-pixel display - So if you aim for 55 characters you will be on point 95% of the time....
• You need to make this compelling enough so want to click your link...
• When you click on the website It has a slider with 5 different images...
• It’s not very clear that this the gateway 2 restaurants...
• Le Sands Pavilion Restaurant & Brighton Kiosk...
• These have no Physical address so you can't find on your phone...
• They have no phone numbers...
• You can book a table...
• There is no menu, so you have no idea of pricing or what meals they offer...
• Mobile Freindliness - 98/100 - GOOD...
• Mobile Speed - 47/100 - POOR...
• Desktop Speed - 53/100 - POOR...
• Failed the can I call from Mobile Test...
• No links to Social Media...

You should take these steps to help Your Restaurant Get Found

You should also have a website that fast load.

Is Mobile Responsive which means the site works on a mobile as most people going to restaurant searching on their mobiles

You should be to see a menu and order from your website.

They should be able to tap phone number on their mobile to make a call.

You should get your website basics right, so it stands a good chance getting found in search engine.
