Turning on the Moo Moo MusicPosted by: Neil Willis Finally some music to our ears! I remember when I had a restaurant in Crows Nest the Music Police would come in, guns ablazing. It always felt like I was dealing with standover men. They didn't seem to care who was in the restaurant or how busy you were. Their message was the only important thing to them! Not that I object to musicians being paid. Far from it in fact! I just felt if the licensing people approached the job with a bit more class and showed some respect for the businesses, they would have received a better response. Also, I wonder how much of the license fees they extract are burned in overheads? Is there any thing left for the muso's? Now the good news...Queensland-based Moo Moo Music is encouraging the hospitality industry to reduce the incidence of illegally downloaded music and non-compliant playlists. Moo Moo Music provides access to thousands of high quality digital tracks performed by Australia's emerging artists. The artists are paid their royalties directly, so no public performance licence is required by the end user. Moo Moo Music has an extensive digital music catalogue containing a wide selection of playlists for every restaurant, which avoids the fee rises flagged by the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia. Well done Moo Moo Music! and it is great for emerging artists as well.
